Pull your kids away from their electronics and let them explore the world around them at Discovery World Milwaukee: Guide to Fun!
Yes I’m guilty of letting my kids watch a little too much TV at times. Mom’s gotta have her time to, am I right?! However, when you’re ready to pack up your kids and get them out of the house then why not do something that is fun for the entire family.
Discovery World in Milwaukee is such a fun place to let your kids explore and learn about the science and technology that surrounds them.
Here you will experience things like a flight simulator, a replica ship, weird and wild ocean and lake creatures or watch a thunderstorm over the Great Lakes.
Aquarium
Explore the underwater world and learn about beautiful creatures from around the world. See things like a stingray, bamboo shark, or sturgeon up close at their touch tank.
Go underwater with fish from the Caribbean when you walk through their Caribbean tank. Finally, explore the weird and wild as you see poisonous dart frogs, pea pufferfish and my kids favorite the axolotyls.
Did you know axolotyls can regenerate missing body parts via rapid cell regeneration? Crazy right!?!
Techno Side
Here you can watch your kids minds grow in front of your eyes as they learn how an air plane flies at their flight simulator, explore different types of energy, put your hand inside a tornado, or test your engineering skills by building your own block city.
There are tons and tons of things to explore that you a your family can easily spend an entire day at Discovery World.
Plan Your Visit
Discovery world is located just off Lincoln Memorial Dive on Milwaukee’s Lakefront near the Milwaukee Art museum. They’re open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Parking around the facility is available as well as a parking garage below the facility, however it is limited and fills up fast.
There is also a parking garage in front of the Milwaukee Art Museum that is just a short walk to Discovery World and has plenty of parking space.
To save yourself some time you can purchase tickets online prior to your arrival. You can see a list of pricing as well as discounted tickets for military, students etc. by going to the Discovery World website.
What about lunch? If your planning to spend a full day at Discovery World than its a given that your children will be hungry before the day is over. You can bring in your own bagged lunch or you can grab a snack from Downtown Kitchen Express.
They have a variety of items like pizza, hotdogs, sandwiches and salads all packaged to go. They are open Monday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
