Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party has quickly become one of our favorite experiences at WDW. Here is our 6 Reasons To Go To Mickey’s Not So Scary.
This past week we surprised our children with a Halloween celebration of a life time. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party was one of the best experiences we have ever had at Walt Disney World.
Everything from rare character meet & greets to a spectacular fireworks show, this 8 hour night of fun left us with nothing but smiles on our faces and memories that will last a lifetime.
Below we will give you our top 6 reasons why you should experience Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at least once.
Tip: At the end we will also share a few special tips to make your Halloween Party experience even more magical.
- Rare Character Meet & Greets
If you have been to any other special event at Walt Disney World then you would know that Disney brings out the best of the best to make your experience extra special.
My children love meeting their favorite Disney characters. There is nothing more magical than seeing your favorite Disney characters in real life.
At the party you will get to experience just that and more. Like Pooh and all his friends dressed in their adorable Halloween costumes, Elvis stitch, Jack Sparrow and so much more.
Our personal favorites however, were Jack and Sally and seeing the adorable Seven Dwarfs.
Jack & Sally
Jack and Sally from the ghoulish film the Nightmare Before Christmas can be found in Town Square Theater. They are one of the most popular characters at the party so the lines fills up fast.
Meet and greets start at 4:30 and we recommend getting in line to see them right away. I promise it’s a spooktacular experience that no Halloween lover would want to miss.
The Seven Dwarfs
Meeting these adorable little guys has been on our list of must see characters for a long time. During our time at the Christmas party, we were unable to see them as the line was extremely long.
Seeing all seven of the dwarfs is extremely rare and you can typically only catch them all together at the Halloween and Christmas parties.
You can find them at Pete’s Silly Side Show. Guests with wristsbands can start lining up to see them as early as 4 p.m., however they may not come out to meet guests until closer to 7 p.m.
2. Boo To You Parade
This had to be the highlight of the entire night. The best part was hearing the click, clack of the horse trotting down main street caring the ever so popular headless horseman.
We have been talking about seeing him for years and we were so excited to finally experience it.
He appears about 10-15 mins prior to the Boo To You Parade.
This parade is presented twice nightly at 9:15 and 11:15 p.m.
During this adorable and exciting parade, you will hear the popular “Boo to You” song as your favorite Disney characters dressed in their Halloween costumes make their way past Cinderella castle and down main st.
It also features a calvalcade of fun floats of each land of Magic Kingdom, bringing them all together to celebrate Halloween.
One of our favorite parts was seeing the zombie grave diggers as they dance with shovels scraping the pavement to create sparks.
3. Not-So-Spooky Spectacular
What is a Disney Halloween Party without fireworks? You can watch this spook-tacular fireworks show at 10:15 p.m. over the top of Cinderella Castle.
If you can we suggest grabbing a spot early so you can see the star of the show, Jack Skellington and his dog Zero as they take Mickey, Minnie and their friends through a Disney Villains haunted house.
4. Tick or Treating Disney Style
Put on your favorite Disney costume and live out your tick-or-treating dreams. During this party you get to collect all your favorite candy treats all throughout Magic Kingdom.
Upon arrival to the party, just past Town Square Theatre, your entire family will receive a special Disney Halloween themed bag to collect all your treats throughout the park.
There are light up signs throughout the park to make each treat location easy to find.
Allergy friendly treats
If you have a food allergy like our family, you can still enjoy some pretty amazing treats during the party. Just ask a cast member at any of the candy locations to give you a special teal colored bag.
At each candy station you will receive a teal colored token. Once you’re done collecting all your treats you can redeem the tokens at the allergy friendly stations for safe and delicious treats.
These locations can be found in Liberty Square near the Hall of Presidents and also at the Main Street Chamber of Commerce as you exit the park.
5. Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular
This amazing live show in front of Cinderella Castle features the Sanderson Sisters and all your favorite Disney Villains.
You can see this several times throughout the night so make sure to at least check it out once, if not twice. I’m telling you it’s that good!
The show plays at 7:40, 8:35, 10:45 p.m. and 12:00 a.m.
6. Special 3D Photo Backdrops
Don’t forget to snap a few photos in your adorable costumes and why not add a fun background. During the party, Disney has several back drops through out the park for the perfect photo-op!
We found some near Tommorrow Land Terrace, across from Monster Inc. Laugh Floor and near the Magic Carpets in Adventure land.
Disney Photopass
Want to make sure you get everyone in your photos? Disney has Photopass photographers throughout the park to capture your special Halloween party moments.
You can purchase the Disney Memory Maker any time during your vacation to get unlimited downloads of all the Photopass photos you take throughout the park and even some special magic shots.
We can’t say it enough, the photographers are absolutely amazing. We have so many fantastic family photos from years past thanks to them. That being said we highly recommend purchasing the Memory maker for your next trip.
You can find more information about the Memory Maker here.
You can also find more information about the party, how to buy tickets and more on the Walt Disney World website.

Bonus Tips!
Here are a few tips to help make your Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party fantastic.
- Get to the park early. If you’re not already attending Magic Kingdom earlier in the day then we suggest getting to the park early. The party officially starts at 7 p.m. however they start letting people in around 4 p.m. We recommend getting to the entrance around 2:30-3 p.m. We were in front of the line and one of the first to get into the park.
- If seeing Jack and Sally is on your list we highly recommend getting in line right away. Arriving to the park early definitely helped with this. Jack and Sally meet at Town Square Theatre which is just to the right of the entrance. We were able to walk straight there upon entry and were 5th in line!
- Wanna see the Seven Dwarfs but don’t want to wait 4 hours? Yes, that’s how crazy popular these handsome little guys are. We recommend going to see them during the second Boo To You parade or one of the showings of Hocus Pocus. We went during the 2nd parade, as we had already seen the first one and we literally walked right up to meet them! Yes, no wait whatsoever!
- Finally decide what your must do’s are before you arrive to the party. There is so much to see and do at the Halloween party and not much time to do it all. We loved the entertainment and the character meet & greets so most of our night was focused on that
- Looking to collect a bunch of Halloween treats in one location? There is a path that runs from the left of the entrance of Tron past The Barnstormer in Fantasyland there they have several treat locations. This is where we received most of our treats for the night without having to walk all over the park.
